Contribution to organisational productivity & effectiveness	When you are working in a team most of the time you will want to give your best towards the job that you are doing as you will not want to let your team down just because you were not prepared or you were just lazy and did not do your job. There might also be the case that you want to be the best in our team and therefore you will have to work really hard to be the best in your team, this will also help the team as you will be more productiove and more efficient.	When a fire fighters team goes to a house fire none of them can afford to just lay back and relax, they all have to be working as hard as they can to help each other. If one of them decides to work slowly or relax at work there might happen something bad to one of his team mates just because he wasn’t working as hard as he can.
Reduction of Alienation	When you are working on your own you might not be confident enough to give your ideas or speak up but if you are put into a team you might give your ideas, speak up for yourself. You might also get help with your work, get help with creating your new ideas and expand on them.	When a police team has a briefing and the chief officer is waiting for ideas then it’s a very good time for everyone to give their ideas and contribute so the team gets the best ideas and they can turn them into a plan of actions, where as if they were not in a team the team members would probably not give any ideas.
Fostering innovation & Sharing expertise	If there are some older people in a team with a lot of experience then they can share their ideas and experience from their past, an older person might have been in their past in a situation in which their team currently is therefore they might know the resolution to the problem their team have.	When for example a higher rank soldier teach lower rank soldier the commands, tactics and gives him knowledge learned in the past which he probably wouldn’t get if he was working alone and not in a team.
Implementing Change	If a team is trying to change something then it’s a lot easier than one or two people trying to change something because when they get loads of votes then someone might really have a look at their ideas and actually do something about it.	If the government wants to change a policy it is much easier to change it if the whole society agrees to the new idea rather than if only a minority have agreed.
Identification & development of talent	When you are working in a group you might get help in finding your talent and maybe getting help with expanding it.	For example if there is a lower rank soldier and he’s doing everything better than the rest of the team he might get a promotion and go on to be a higher rank soldier.
Help increase individual performance & creativity	When working in a team you will be able to learn methods of work and different styles to perform a task as there will be people with different experience therefore it will help you to develop and progress better.	When there is a team of soldiers that’s very good as then they can learn to do things from the other soldiers as different soldiers will have different skills due to different teaching techniques and to longer experience of some soldiers.
Gives employers ownership & control of their work	If there is a team leader he will keep an eye out on the work of their team members, they can monitor their progress and help them to improve and progress so they can work more effectively and produce more work.	Fr example the police has an annual report which tells the main person of how each officer and each police station do so then they can see where they have problems and then improve them and come up with new ideas for their work.
Higher commitment to the objectives of the service / workplace	When you will be working in a team you will want to be the best in the team as well as you do not want to let your team down because of your poor effort therefore you will try your best to keep up with the rest or even to work better than them.	In an army there cannot be a situation where everyone is working separately, everyone is working as a team, most of the team members will try to work even harder than the rest of the team to show the leader that they have the talent and that they could become a leader one day because of their outstanding work and commitment.
Greater job satisfaction & motivated workforce	Sometimes it’s better to work in a team rather than working alone as then you will feel good because you are part of a team, you will most probably also get help from your team members if you have any problems with your task.	For example when a police officer is out patrolling the street he might not be happy feel down where as if there are two police officers patrolling the streets they will talk, have a laugh which will make their day a lot better because they will be happy. This will also improve their confidence and improve their productivity.
Less absenteeism	When you work in a team there should be no absences at all but sometimes it happens, you should never let your team down by not turning up because the job sometimes cannot be done if your team is missing a member or two because the job might require exact amount of people to overcome the task.	IF a fire fighters are called to an accident there is no space for a single fire fighter not to attend because that might cause a death or a serious injury to his team friends just because he was late for work 5 minutes or because he just did not turn up to work.
Decrease in staff turnover	When there is a team everyone has their own place, so for example there is a team leader and team members, because the ranks are set there is very little movement in the staff ranks, there are the ranks in place and everyone knows what they’re doing, therefore changing the staff is unnecessary and it doesn’t happen too often.	In an army every soldiers know their place and they know who their leader is, obviously the lower rank soldiers would like to become a higher rank soldiers and leaders but it’s very difficult to get into that position but the soldiers will still do their best to get there.
