GPS- presentation
Good morning. I’m going to talk about GPS. It’s a system that shows your position on a map. its name comes from the Global Positioning System. Above the Earth there is a system of satellites witch orbit. They send signals received by GPS device on the ground. The signals satellites transmit coded time and geographical data, which allow the user to precisely determine its exact position, velocity and time anywhere on the planet.
The GPS system was designed for military and intelligence for the United States army in 1960. It was a secret. In the 1983 shooting down of a Korean airliner by the Soviet Union, led the United States to provide the GPS for caviling use. Today, GPS is used to: navigation, locating the road by car drivers, map making, study earthquakes, climate research and field games. I think this is one of the best inventions.
Thank you for your attention.
My person
My name is Mark Dziura. I am 21 years old. I live in Katowice in a detached house. I have a big family, because I have two sisters and one brother. My brother got married two months ago. He doesn’t live with us. We have a big garden with fruit trees. In the autumn we make fruit jam and other delicacies. I'm interested in sport. My favorite discipline is football, sailing and ski jumping. When I was little I went skiing and I wanted to be a ski jumper. But in Katowice aren’t any ski jumps. Today I only go a snowboarding. In my free time I often go to the mountains. The highest peak witch I have ever been is Rysy. They are 2,500 meters above sea level. I also take photographs of nature. I’m studying automation and robotics at Silesian University of Technology. The knowledge that I got in college is very important because in the future I want to build machines. Next year I will be writing engineering study. I think that this is the specialization of the future and when I finish my studies I hope to find a well-paid job. During my studies, I have met a lot of interesting people. I'm happy with my life.
