Herschel is around 24.6 ft (7.5 m) high and 13.1 ft (4 m) wide Its main mirror is 11.5 ft (3.5 m) wide.
05: It is studying dusty and cold regions of space to learn morę about the origin and evolution of stars and galaxies.
Data from the telescope is transmitted every day to an antenna in New Norcia, Australia
