1.    Tracę four snowman patterns on page 28 onto the wbite foam with a marker. You can tracę around the center part of your jar lid for the center pattern, or use the pattern on page 28 for the lid. Tracę the lid pattern onto the white foam. Tracę eight mittens onto the blue foam. Cut out all pieces just inside of the traced lines. To get smoother lines, turn the scissors as you work.

2.    Shade all foam pieces with the blue pen and stiff bristled brush. To shade the mittens. draw a blue linę along the edges then brush with the stiff-bristled brush toward the center to achieve a shaded look. (Notę: In order to have four "left" mittens and four “right" mittens. make surę to turn half of the mittens over before shading them.) Run the bristles across the pen then onto the foam to softly shade all snowman edges. Wash the brush in soapy water and dry. Run the bristles over the pink pen then swirl them onto the snowman faces for cheeks in areas indicated by dashed lines on the pattern.

3.    Transfer the details onto each snowman as shown on the patterns by using graphite paper and a pencil.

*4. Draw the noses in with yellow and red pens to make orange. Use the white marker to draw snowflake marks on the mittens.

5.    Use the black marker to draw in eyes. mouths, and buttons, to outline the noses. and to draw wiggly lines around the snowman out-lines. Draw wiggly outlines and euff lines on all mittens with the black marker.

6.    Highlight the eyes and cheeks with white paint dots applied with a toothpick.

7.    Clue the mitten euffs to the sides of each snowman. Clue the round face to the lid.

8.    Tear five 1 * wide strips of plaid fabric for the scarves. Apply glue to the outside of the jar lid. Tie a fabric strip around the jar lid and knot. Glue a button to the knot. Tie fabric strips around each snowman's neck with a knot.

9.    Stitch the snowmen together with perle cotton and embroidery needle just under the mittens where marked on the pattern. Allow extra perle cotton to adjust the fit on the jar if needed. Tie the perle cotton ends into a bow between each snowman.

10.    Slide the joined snowmen over the jar and adjust the bows at the sides if needed to fit.
