re!axing by the pool, but mostly we were out and about enjoying the sunshine.
12 I love action-packed holidays where I can sightsee, visit historical piaces or do any kind of sport. I always like to be on the move and don't like to spend too much time iying by the pool or on a beach. A skiing holiday is my favourite kind of holiday. / I prefer going on quiet holidays where I can sit by the pool or at the beach. My mum and I like to lie in the sun and relax all day, and my dad and brother like to play with a bali on the beach - we have very quiet holidays!
13 lt's important to plan an action-packed holiday because if there's a lot to do then you need to make surę that you can fit it all in. When my family and I went to Switzerland to ski we madę surę that we had a lot of time on the siopes. But we also wanted time to sightsee so my mum madę an itinerary for us so we knew what we would be doing each day. /1 never plan my holiday before I go. I love being spontaneous and exploring the area when I arrive. Each day and night is different, but it is never planned.
14 I would love to visit Mexico and see the sites of the Maya, like Chichen Itza. I love history and culture and so going to Mexico is my dream! I would also love to visit to Paris to sightsee. I'd love to see the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and Notre Damę. I've only ever seen them in films and on the TV, so I would love to see them in person!
15 l've never fallen ill on holiday, but my sister did once when she visited America. She got food poisoning from eating shellfish and was in hospital for three days! Luckily, she had taken out health insurance for the trip so she didn't have to pay anything.

A: So what do you think?
B: Weil, I like the fiat and the other tenants. The room is fine but I don't like the decor very much. If l moved in, would you mind if I changed the colour of the walls?
A: That would be no problem, but l'd like to know what colour you choose. I'd rather you didn't paint it some outiandish colour!
B: No, I wouldn't. Maybe magnolia.
A: That would be fine. Actually, if you like painting and you'd like to do the living room that colour too, l'd give you a discount on the rent for the first month.
B: OK. Talking of money, would I need to pay a deposit for the room?
A: Yes. There is a deposit of one month's rent when you move in. I'll give you it back when you move out as long as you haven't caused any damage. I deduct the cost of repairing any damage tenants cause.
B: That's fine. Would i need to pay you in cash or by cheque?
A: Actually it's better for me if you set up a standing order with your bank so that the rent is paid automatically every month. That means I don't have to come round very often, so it's also better for your privacy! Do you think you can do that?
B: Weil, I haven't opened a bank account here yet, but I will tomorrow.
A: There's something else I should mention. Do you know there's a minimum tenancy period?
B: No, what is it?
A: lt's six months.
B: Oh, then l'm not surę the fiat is right for me. I'm not surę ITI be here that long.
A: You can leave before six months is up, but you will lose half of your deposit.
B: I see. Weil, I think I need to think about it.
A: No problem, but I can't hołd the room for you. I have another prospective tenant coming this afternoon.
B: OK. ITI cali you soon with my decision.
A: Thank you.

The picture shows some kind of musical paradę or procession. There are four or five drummers in medieval-style red cloaks. Each is carrying and playing a drum. One of them may be a woman, but most of them are men. There's also a man in a brown cloak behind the drummers, but it's hard to see whether he has an instrument too. They are surrounded by people in modern-day clothing. It's a sunny day in some kind of town square. Some of the audience are wearing sunglasses. There are colourful buildings in the background and also a church or cathedral. It looks like somewhere in Europę.
1 I think it's some kind of celebration of the past. Perhaps it's an ancient festival that the town has revived or preserved. It could be religious - some kind of Easter paradę, for example - or it could be non-religious, like a celebration of spring or a historie battle victory. On the other hand, it could be a completely new event that celebrates this town's history. Perhaps this town has an interesting medieval history and the townsfolk are re-creating that time to attract visitors.
2 I think traditional culture is very important because it gives people a sense of their history and their national identity. It would be a terrible shame if everyone all over the world had the same musie, style of dancing, clothes or whatever. I enjoy listening to folk musie from this region and I sometimes go to concerts by traditional folk artists. The lyrics are often much morę interesting than those of modern pop songs. A lot of people ignore traditional culture, so I think governments should fund it to make surę it survives.
3 I went to a ceilidh, which is a night of dancing to live Scottish or irish-style folk musie. I thought of a ceilidh as a concert. I didn't realise people go to a ceilidh to dance with each other. Nearly everybody danced. The singer explained how to do each dance before it began. In most of the dances, you started with one partner, but changed partners several times. In some of the dances everybody joined hands and formed a circle. It was very good fun and also good exercise. I laughed a lot and enjoyed the musie very much. It was like stepping back in time.

I don't think I would enjoy abseiling at all. i don't like heights. It would make me nervous and l'm not very strong, so I think I would find it very difficult. Activity 2 is table tennis and I think that would be much morę fun. The disadvantage is that it's indoors. When l'm on holiday I like to spend time outdoors as much as possible. I think
