Połyarteritis nodosa with pulmonary vasculitis

Althoughearfypostmortem senes reported pulmonary involvement as a relatwely common manifestation of połyartentjs nodosa (RAN), using the modem classification of PAN pulmonary involvementis very uncommon. A 62-yr-old małe with well-documented classic PAN was foundto have anarteritis of medium-sized muscular pulmonary arteries. The patient subsequently demonstrated a complefe response to treatment Of the few reported cases of PAN with pulmonary manrfestations, the majority are autopsy senes and the vascular lesion in volves the bronchial arteries. There are no case reports of patients with pulmonary invołvement of PAN who responded successfully to treatment This case is the first description of a premortum diagnosis of pulmonary arteritisin PAN in whichthe patient had a response to treatment
