COOLING SYSTEM 10-3
COOLING SYSTEM 10-3
u/ićtibn with a radiator cap pres-
Before removing the radiator and draining engine coolant, inspect the cooling Circuit for tightness.
• Remove the radiator cap.
• Connect the tester © to the filier.
Do not remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot.
Give a pressure of about 110 kPa (1.1 kgf/cm2, 15.6 psi) and see if the system holds this pressure for 10 seconds.
If the pressure should fali during this 10-second interval, it means that there is a leaking point in the system. In such a case, inspect the entire system and replace the leaking com-ponent or part.
When removing the radiator cap tester, put a rag the filier to prevent spouting of engine coolan
CAUTION __
Do not allow the pressure to exceed the rad i or cap release pressure, or the radiator can be dama; d.
• Inspect the radiator surę gauge.
Maja Radiator cap valve release pressure:
NOTĘ:
Apply water to radiator cap seal before fitting the radiator cap to the pressure gauge.
• Remove the seat and fuel tank. (ci7“3-2)
• Drain engine coolant. (dT‘2-9)
• Disconnect the radiator hoses.
• Remove the radiator guards © and mounting bolts.
