Both the F and G models operate with similar combustion flame tempera-tures providing bumer outlet temperatures (BOT) around 2700°F to 2850°F (1480°C to 1566°C). But by the time the combustion gases on the F reach the first stage turbinę vane, they’ve been air-cooled and diluted down to around 2460°F (1350°C), and further cooled by nozzle film cooling to around 2400°F (1315°C) when they reach first rotor blades (first work). On the other hand, the G shows gas temperatures ahead of the first vane at around 2730°F (1500°C) due to steam cooling the transition. Conventional air (film cooling) of the nozzle reduces this to 2580°F (1415°C) rotor inlet temperaturę (RIT) on the G technology machinę.
