We’ve chosen a delicate, muted colour scheme for our designs, but you can go for any colour combinations you like. Have a look through your thread stash and choose the colours that work best for you.
YOU CAN personalise literally anything with an alphabet. One brilliant gift idea is stitching initials on little covered buttons and attaching them to bigger presents like bags, clothes or even slippers! Ali you need is same 29mm Self-Cover Buttons from Hemline (available at all good craft or haberdashery shops). We like the metal versions - theyYe a bit morę expensive than plastic, but theyYe so easy to use it's definitely worth the extra! To make up your buttons, cut your fabric
into 6cm diameter cirdes. Remove the serated button backing - a smali screwdriver will help prise it off - and position your stitched letter centrally over the top of the button. Wrap the fabric round the button, keeping it taut. To f inish, replace the serated back piece, pressing down f irmly. You might need to give it a light tap with a hammer. Use the smali hole in the button shank to stitch the finished button on to your slippers, bag or other gift item. It's that easy!
