6. Sleeves for Fig 4 6a
Tracę the personal sleeve Błock. Enlarge the sleeve head by slashing down FL almost to the wrist and spread the parts to match the enlarged armhole, as in Blocks, Fig 25.
a. Elbow-long sleeve with a long peak. Measure 25-35 cm from BP down the Back seam lines and rule a construction linę AA. Plan the peak at the underarm following the sleeve linę as shown, extending it to the desired length. Complete the new sleeve edge with a shallow curve. Complete the new pattern by marking SP,
SG and seam allowances.
b. Short sleeve with separate streamer. Measure 15-20 cm from BP down the Back seam lines and rule a construction lineA4. Plan a short sleeve as shown and complete the pattern as above.
Make the streamer from a doubled strip of lightweight cloth -it is usually light-coloured. Sew this as a facing round the edge of the sleeve, with the hanging end at the back.
Alternatively plan long sleeves with buttons, or mitten cuffs as described in Kirtles, Fig 5, which are also seen on men's garments.
