Figurę 37. GICELINMEFECIT sword, c. 1100. Thirty years ago, 1 had the privilegc of cleaning this sword and taking x-ray photographs of the inscription. It is in almost pristine condition. There are traces of gold plating on the pommel, and a particularly interesting feature is the form of the cross, with smali, vcrv simple, yet extraordinar-ily effective beasts' heads at the tips.
