The waterfront complex is a multi-use development including commercial, retail, and dining facilities; gaming halls; a 600-room hotel with meedng rooms, a health club and ballroom; a 7,050-car garage below a new park; a series of indoor and outdoor recreational facilities; and a marina.
Surrounded by a residential neighborhood and a dcclining industrial community overlooking Sydney Harbour and the central business district, the project introduces a neighborhood park with casino and parking facilities below. The program distributes components across two former industrial pierś and adjacent vacant waterfront land. The strategy of merging land and water activities continues in the multi-terraced watersidc pedestrian promenades, shops, restaurants, docks and boating slips, and sports and entertainment facilities.
The Sydney Harbour Casino is designed to serve both the city of Sydney and the world as a 24-hour family entertainment experience during the 2000 Olympic Games.
