Winter Holly

Materials: Two shuttles Thread - DMC Cebelia No.20 in red 666 and green 699

This design with three holly leaves is based on a sprig which is traditionally placed on the Christmas pudding. An extra three holly leaves could be added between the three shown here if you want a fu ller sprig.

Approximate size when worked in the recommended thread. Match your chains to the lines herc to gct the right curve on thein.

Wind Shl with the red thread and cut from its bali. Wind Sh2 with the green thread but do not cut from its bali. Tie the red end to the green thread half way betw^een the shuttle and bali of green thread. Get rid of the red end in the first ring.

Shl Ring A 4 - 4 - 4 close, RW

* Hołd the two green threads together to make the ds of the next chain double thickness,

Shl Chain 6, RW, Ring B 4 + 4 - 4 close, RW,

Put Shi down and use Sh2 with the green bali of thread.

Sh2 Ch 6, RW, JK6, RW, Ch 10, RW, JK6, RW, Ch 10. RW. JK6.

RW, Ch 10, RW, JK6, RW, Ch 10, RW. JK6, RW. Ch 6, RW,

Hołd the two gi*een threads together, Shi Ch 6, RW.

Ring C 4 + 4 - 4 close, RW,

Repeat from * until three holly leaves and six berries have been madę.

Join Ring F to Ring A.
