Separating the Cartridge
1. Remove the waste bin bearing plate.
The bearing plate is located adjacent to the drum helical
gear. Remove the two screws that secure the bearing clip
using a Phillips® screwdriver (FIG 1).
Then, remove the bearing plate

2. Remove the drum spur gear axle.
The drum spur gear axle is located adjacent to the drum
spur gear. Using needlenose pliers, remove the drum axle
(FIG 3).
FIG 3
3. Remove the drum.
Grasp the drum by the spur gear, push the drum to the
drive gear side of the cartridge, and lift the drum from the
cartridge (FIG 4). If you plan to reuse the drum, store it in
an area that is protected from light and impact damage.

Separating the Cartridge
4. Remove the primary charge roller.
Use the needlenose pliers and grasp the PCR shaft and lift
it from the cartridge (FIG 5). Handle the PCR by the axle or
use clean latex gloves. If you plan to reuse the PCR, store it
on a flat uniform surface.
FIG 5
5. Remove the cartridge pins.
Initial pin removal is much easier in the HP2100 that in the
HP4000, no special tools are required. Tap the pins to the
outside (FIG 6) until you are able to grasp them with pliers
and remove the pins.
6. Separate the cartridge. Cartridge

actuator arm tab to the left of the actuator spring. Place the
spring on the actuator arm tab. This keeps the spring on
the actuator arm when it is removed from the hopper as
shown in the illustration (FIG 7).
