APPLICATION OF SEISMIC MEASUREMENTS IN THE FLOOD EMBANKMENT INYESTIGATIONS

Abstract

The article presents the results of seismic measurements carried out on a portion of flood embankments along the left bank of the Vistula River in Kraków. The aim of this work was the selection of an appropriate methodology for measuring during flood embankments investigations and to determine the optimal geometry of the measuring variations in the applied methodology. For the acquisition Ultra-Light GEODE and geophones 4.5 Hz, 10 Hz and 100 Hz were carried out. The obtained data were processed and analyzed using programs such as Seismic Unix (OpenSource, Colorado School of Minę), Vista Seismic Processing 11.0 Gedco Company, Seislmager and MATLAB. Based on gained experience, the authors show how to optimize the seismic measurements with respect to a given structure, assessing the seismic method as an effective and meaningful when applied to diagnosis this type of structures.
