This article presents five kinds of definitions: generał (including popular), negative, positive, a con-trario to the term „lack of security' and comprehensive. It is point of reference to indi-cate the role socialogical thinking about security. Its pronunciation is simple: the socia-logical point of view should be respected in discusion about the different problems of security social life because it is promising pei*spective of cognition this phenomenon.
