In accordancc with resolurion 239 (IV), the Commission consisfed of rcprcscntativcs of Eurma, Cua-tcmala, Norway, Pakistan and thc Umon of South Africa. The foliowing tcprcsenratiYCs and altcmatcs wcrc ap-poineed to eoostitutc the Commission in reprtseruation of their rcspcttivccountrics: Mr. Jusckc Aung Khinc and U .Maung Maung Soe (Burma), Mr. Carlos Garda Bauer and Mr. Jose Luis Mendoaa (Guatemala), Mr. Justke E/ltng Qvale and Mr. Ivar Lundc (Norway), Mr. Mian Ziaud-Dśn and Mx. Mir Mohamed Shaikh (Pakistan),

Major-Genaal F. H. Theron and Mr. F. J. van Bilion (Union of South Africa). Their crcdcntials were found to be in duc form.

16.    Ac the third mectins. hcld on 7 February 1950, the Commission adopced 14/its nilcs of procedurę. 15/

17.    Ali thc represcnuchcs on the Commission we te not prcscnc at th: first meeting held at Lakę Success on 10 January 1950. and as the Commission had not yet considered its rules of procedurę, it was dccided to elect a temporary Chairman. Mr. Justicc Aung Khine (Burma) was unanimously cleaed temporary Chairman. 16/

13. Ac.its third meeting, held on 7 February 1950, thc Commission cleaed Mr. Juscice Erljng Qv»le (Norway). Chairman, and Mr. Mian Ziaud-Din (Pakistan) Rapporteur.

19.. At the 36th meeting, held on 31 March 1950, the Commission dccidcd unanimously to amend its rules of procedurę to providc that the office of Chairman woold be assumed in futurę by represenutim in rotacion in the English alphabetical order of the names of the members for a period of seven days at a ome. 17/ Accord-ingly, the Chairmanship of the Commission was assumed by represencauves as foliowi:
