In theframe of scientific cooperation between ihe Instilule ofBotany ofANAS French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA), the scientific coordinator, scientist of French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) Alain Kheyr-Pour, research scientists from INRA-Avignon Research Center Dr. Cecile Desbiez and Dr. Erie Yerdin visited Azerbaijan by the imitation of the Institute ofBo tany.

During the meeting, further development of bilateral scientific relations on research of virus diseases of plants, joint participation in the international research programs, support of French scientists for the training ofyoung staff, scientific exchange andsome otherproblems were discussed. Guests participatedat the workshop organized in the Department ofFundamenta! Problems ofBiological Produclivity and with local scientists were in the expeditions in different regions of Azerbaijan. It should be noted that the mvestigations on the plant virus and phytoplasma diseases were startedfor the firsl time in Azerbaijan under the leadership of Jalal Aliyev. In a short period oftime great results were achieved, preparation ofąualifiedStaffwere realized, local and international grants were awarded._

Safarin maqsadi AMEA Botanika institutunun Herbari Fondunun yenibnmię infrastruktura ila tamę o!maq, hamęinin Fondda saxlamlan Euphorbiaceae Juss. fasilasina aid Euphorbia cinsinin araędirilmasi idi. Dr.Geltmanla institut amakdakdaęlan tarafindan loplanmi; herbari niimunabri mtlzakira edibrkan Azarbaycan iiętin yeni taksonlar muayyanbędirildi. Dr. Geltman Abęeron florasini oyranmak maqsadib Ali bitkibrin sistcmatikasi ęóbasinin mudiri, b.U.f.d. V. K.arimovla birlikda hamin arazidaęol tadqiqatlannda iętiraketdi.

JOINT RESEARCH WITH RUSS1AN BOTAN1STS CONTINUES

Dr. Dmitry Geltman, Deputy director on Scientific Ajfairs of the Institute ofBotany afterV.L.Komarov ofRussian Academy ojSciences visited the Institute of Botany ofANAS on 22-25 October, 2014. The aim ofhis visit was the acąuaintance with the renovated infrastructure of Herbarium Foundation of the Institute as well as the imestigation of Euphorbia genus from Euphorbiaceae Juss. family conserved in the Foundation. During discussion with Dr. Geltman new taxa for Azerbaijan were identified among herbarium samples collectedhy the hotanists of the Institute. Together with Dr. Yugar Kerimou, the head of Department of Systematics of Higher Plants of the Institute of Botany of ANAS Dr. Geltman participated in thefield expedition toAbsheron to investigate theflora ofthis area.
