SCIENTIFIC LINKS WITH TURKISH BOTANISTS

Dr. Parvana Garakhani. the head of the Herbarium Laboratory of the Institute of Botany of ANAS visited Hacettepe University (Turkey) on 6-13 december, 2014 with the aim to get acquainted with the botanist of the Section ofBiology of the University and to discuss futurę cooperation with them as well as to investigate the specimens conserved at the Herbarium Foundation. During the meeting with the Turkish scientists the organization of joint expeditions, preparation of international projects, solution of the controversial problems on taxonomy, implementation of research work by means of modem methods (molecular, phylogenetic, anatomie) and trainingofyoungspecialists in these fields within theframeworkof cooperation were discussed.

During the visit Dr. P. Garakhani conducted an investigation on some specimens of Hyacinthaceae, Liliaceae families, Rosa, Dianthus, Ranunculus etc. genus.

Dr. Vahid Farzaliyev, Deputy director on Scientific Affairs ofthe Central Botanical Garden of ANAS visited Berlin-Dahlem Botanic Garden and Botanical Museum (BGBM, Germany) on 4-15 November, 2014 in the frameworkofjointproject with BGBMsupported by Yolkswagen Stifftung. During visit Dr. V.FarzaIiyev acquainted with the actrnty carried out at the BGBM on the organization oflwing exposure and Herbarium Foundation, international seed exchange, passportization and conservation of plants, public awareness and otherfields, he gained experience of German colleagues for the development of the CB G.
