Snohvit C02 Tubaen Fm. storage capacity and inj«ction strategy study

Composition of the injected fluid exported from Melkoya has been analyzed several times a year. During 2008 and 2009, CO; content was about 96-98 %, and the rest was mainly methane and nitrogen. After the 2009 revision stop, the CO; has been much cleaner (between 98 % and 99.5% purity). N; and heavier hydrocarbons have now been removed from the injection stream. The water content is constantly less than 50 ppm.
Rates and pump pressure are measured at Melkoya. The LNG plant has had start-up challenges, causing numerous stops in the production linę and subsequent shut-ins of the offshore CO; transport and injection.
Such stops have lasted from less than a day to at most four months (August-December 2009), as seen in Figurę 33 and Figurę 34. The cumulative injected mass of CO; was 752 807 tons 30,h June 2010 - at the time of writing this report.
Data from a large number of sensors are recorded in the Aspen Process Explorer system, and all data are stored. Hourly values have been written in spreadsheet , which has been
regularly updated.
