Materials:
vð Yarn: Worsted or aran, I ve used two strands of worsted weight yarn held
together, only for arms I ve used one strand of yarn. Colours: grey, red and skin
colour for knight, 2 shades of brown for horse and manes, black for embroidery.
vð Crochet Hook: 5.0 mm
vð 3 pairs of Safety eyes 2 x 8mm and 1 x 10mm
vð Fiberfil
vð Needle
vð Pin dog brush
vð Stitch marker (optionally)
Abbreviations:
Ch Chain
Sl st Slip stitch
Sc Single crochet
Dc Double crochet
Hdc Half double crochet
Sc2tog Single crochet 2 I always use an invisible decrease, so the decreases won t show.
together Invisible decrease, 2 stitches: in front loops only: insert in first
stitch, insert in next, yarn over, pull through both stitches, yarn
over, pull through last.
Face Guard:
With grey, Ch13, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc, ch1, 7dc, 1hdc, 1sc, 3sc in last,
go around the corner and continue in other side of chain, 2sc, ch1, 7dc, 1hdc, 1sc,
2sc in last, sl st in first.
Embroider black vertical stripes on the face guard, and weave in ends.
Head and body:
Rnd 1: with grey, start with a magic loop, 6sc in loop (6)
Rnd 2: 2sc in every stitch (12)
Rnd 3: *1sc, 2sc in next* repeat around (18)
Rnd 4: *2sc, 2sc in next* repeat around (24)
Rnd 5: sc around (24)
Rnd 6: sc around (24)
Rnd 7: sc around (24)
Rnd 8: sc around (24)
Rnd 9: (Change to skin colour, in back loops only, 9sc), with grey, through both
loops, 15sc (24)
Rnd 10: (Change to skin colour, 9sc), with grey, 15sc (24)
Rnd 11: (Change to skin colour, 9sc), with grey, 15sc (24)
Rnd 12: Continue with grey, (front loops only, 9sc), through both loops, 15sc (24)

-Insert the 8mm safety eyes between round 10 & 11, with 4 stitches between them.
-Now take the 10mm safety eyes, place them in both corners of face guard and insert them in head, between round 9
& 10, in the second grey stitch next to the skin colour.
-Stuff Head.

Horse Legs:
Attach brown yarn with slip stitch in first back loop of rnd 29 (where you only used the front loops), 11sc, ch12, sc in
2nd ch from hook, 10sc in chains you just made, continue in rnd 29: 20sc, *ch12, sc in 2nd ch from hook, 10sc in chains, in
rnd 29: 22sc*, repeat * to * one more time, ch12, sc in 2nd ch from hook, 10sc in chains, in rnd 29: 12sc, sl st in first.
Horse s head:
Rnd 1: with brown, start with a magic loop, 6sc in loop (6)
Rnd 2: 2sc in every stitch (12)
Rnd 3: *1sc, 2sc in next* repeat around (18)
Rnd 4: sc around (18)
Rnd 5: sc around (18)
Rnd 6: sc around (18)
Rnd 7: 2sc in each of next 6 stitches, 12sc (24)
Rnd 8: sc around (24)
Rnd 9: 3sc, 2sc in each of next 6 stitches, 15sc (30)

Insert safety eyes 8mm between row 7 & 8 with 6 stitch between them and stuff
head.
Rnd 17: *sc2tog* repeat around (6)
Leave a long tail to attach to knights body and embroider bridle.
Horse head is attached in rnd 21 & 22 (the last two grey rounds).
Horse Ears:
Rnd 1: with brown, ch5
Rnd 2: turn, 4sc
Rnd 3: turn, sc2tog 2 times.
Attach to horse s head.
Manes:
Rnd 1: with other shade of brown then rest of the horse: ch12
Rnd 2: turn, sc in 2nd ch from hook, 10sc
Rnd 3: ch1, 10sc.
Now take the dog brush and start brushing this little strip of crochet until it really
looks like hair. Now attach strip to horse s head, starting one row before ears.
Arms (make 2)
Rnd 1: with grey, one strand of yarn, start with a magic loop, 6sc in loop (6)
Rnd 2  11: sc around (6)
Cut yarn but leave a long tail to attach arms with.
You don t have to stuff the arms, that will keep them more flexible. Attach arms in row 19 (first row where you ve
used dc). While attaching the arms, sew through the neck a few times to close the gap.
