Description

The 1336 PLUS is a microprocessor based AC drive that provides a
PWM adjustable frequency and voltage output for exceptional control
of motor speed and torque. The output can be tuned to provide opti-
mum performance under a wide variety of load conditions.

Conformity to Standards

The 1336 PLUS conforms to the following standards:

Standard Products Program

This program includes standard 1336 PLUS drives rated from 0.37-
448 kW (0.5-600 HP). Drive mounting is available as Open, IP20
(NEMA Type 1), IP65 (NEMA Type 4) or IP54 (NEMA Type 12).
There is a limited offering of factory mounted options along with a
larger offering of option kits for user installation. The 1336 PLUS can
also be used with DriveTools32™ Suite, a family of software prod-
ucts that let you program, monitor and troubleshoot the drive. All
products in this program are pre-defined and not generally subject to
modification. To create custom drive packages based on specific
needs, refer to “Configured Drives Program” on page 155.

A Language Module must be specified with each drive. See page 144 for choices. All Language Modules will now include a firmware reference in the catalog number.

At least one of either a Control Interface, Human Interface or Communication Board Option will be required to make the drive functional. The chosen option(s)
may be ordered factory installed (if available) or as add-on kits.

Drive Rating is based on nominal voltage of 240 volts and carrier frequency of 4 khz at altitudes of 1000 meters or less. Refer to Publication 1336 PLUS-1.0 for
derating information.

For Drives requiring CE/C-tick Conformance, use the -AE Enclosure Catalog Number and follow all the additional guidelines found on page 150 (CE/C-tick
Conformance).

If a door mounted Human Interface Module is supplied, the Enclosure Rating is limited to IP 65 (NEMA and UL do not apply).

Use of a Door Mounted Human Interface Module on these Enclosures will void the NEMA Type
4 Rating.

Using this kit with a 500-600V drive will not make the drive CE compliant. While these kits can
offer EMC improvements, CE tests do not currently exist for equipment above 480V.

Configured Drives Program

The Configured Drives Program allows users to create custom drive
packages based on their specific needs. A complete drive package
may be specified by assembling a single catalog number string that
includes a base drive and all required options. Packaging is available
in NEMA Type 1, 4 or 12 enclosures. The complexity of a chosen
option list will determine delivery time for the package.

How to Order:

Step 1
Select the basic Drive Catalog Number based on application
requirements (i.e. nominal HP, voltage and enclosure type). The
basic package will include a standard drive, Language Module,
115V Control Interface Board, drive branch fusing and enclosure.

Step 2
Specify Options — The following pages list and describe the
available options. The listing is divided into simple categories to
assist in quickly locating specific needs. Some options are
horsepower and/or voltage specific, or will have special rules
associated with them — Read all Footnotes.

All options will be further defined by a lead-time code. The lead-
time of a specific Configured Drive package will be equal to the
published lead-time of the worst case option.

Example:

A user requires a variable speed control for an existing 3 HP,
230VAC conveyor motor. Both drive and motor will be located in a
clean environment. Local control is required for programming, start,
stop, speed and emergency stop. Operation across the line (with selec-
tion and mode indication at drive) is required. A drive mode discon-
nect switch should be available. The speed reference will be supplied
either local or from an isolated remote process control and should be
selectable at the drive. 250VA control power is required. The motor
has a cooling blower that requires control.

Lead-time-worst case is “Q,” thus lead-time is the published value for “Configured Drives with Q
options only”.

Suggested Power Distribution Schemes

This option is redundant to the existing electronic overload protection supplied by the drive as standard.

If the motor branch fusing option (-FM) is not specified, the user must supply motor branch circuit protection.

Standard drive branch fusing will be located on the optional drive disconnect switch, if supplied (except F Frame drives — because fuses are included with the
standard drive).

For F Frame drive ratings — the input contactor option will be located ahead of the internal drive branch fusing.

Codes and Standards

Replaces the standard Language Module supplied with the basic drive.

The contact outputs provided with this option may be reprogrammed to At Frequency, At Current
or At Torque.

A maximum of one drive mounted communication option is permitted. If additional communication
options are required, specify the Panel Mount style.

Can not be used with operator device options D12, D14 and D16.

Specific requirements must be supplied at time of order entry. Both PLC and SLC hardware
mounting is not available on the same drive.

This option may be used on an IP 65 Rated Enclosure to meet Watertight Indoor Applications.

Includes a Class 10 Adjustable Thermal Overload Relay. Adjustability range will be based on
standard motor data. Separate heater elements are not required. This option will handle a
maximum blower motor rating of 0.75 kW (1 HP), 460V, 1.7A.

This option must be used in conjunction with the Auxiliary Run Contact option (-JR).

The function of the “Auto Mode” speed reference is dependent upon the programming of [Freq

Select 2], parameter 6 in the drive. The use of an Isolated Signal Conditioner (option -N3) is

recommended for any analog signal being fed to the drive.

Operator Devices — Door Mounted

The operator devices listed on the next page are logically grouped
into sets. Only one option code selection may be made from each set.
Where possible 800E style devices will be supplied. Loose or individ-
ual devices are not available.

The enclosures supplied in the 1336 PLUS Configured Drives Pro-
gram will have a pre-punched enclosure door covered with a mylar
decorative plate. The operator devices as specified in the drive catalog
number will be supplied mounted and wired. The chart below indi-
cates the mounting location of specific options or option groupings.
The operator device locations are not configurable by the user.
