INSPECTION

Antenna Cable

1.

Inspect antenna cable for obvious damage.

2.

Inspect antenna cable connectors for obvious damage.

Antenna Mast

1.

Inspect the antenna mast and mount for damage.

2.

Make certain the antenna mast is clean and not corroded.

3.

Make certain the antenna mast is secure in the antenna mount.

Antenna Mount

1.

Inspect the antenna mount for obvious damage.

REMOVAL

Antenna Cable

1.

Remove the ashtray.

2.

Remove the two screws from the center panel assembly.

3.

Remove four screws that secure the radio to the support bracket.

4.

Remove five connectors from the rear of the radio.

5.

Pull the carpet back toward the passenger seat to expose fire wall.

6.

Remove two clips to remove the forward lower door trim.

7.

Untwist the three twist ties that secure the antenna cable to the dash panel.

The heater core and air conditioning have been removed to show cable and twist tie location. In actual practice, the twist ties will require untwisting and retwisting after installation with these units installed.

8.

Pull the antenna cable out from the radio support bracket and the twist ties.

9.

Raise the vehicle.

10.

Remove the mud flap from the right front wheel well.

11.

Remove the mud guard from the right front wheel well.

12.

Disconnect the antenna cable connector from the antenna assembly.

13.

Secure a flexible wire or a strong cord to the connector. It will ease in “fishing” the new antenna cable into place.

14.

Remove the antenna cable by pulling it from the wheel well side.

15.

Lower the vehicle.

REMOVAL

Antenna Mast

1.

Remove the antenna mast from the antenna mount by unscrewing it from the mount.

REMOVAL

Antenna Mount

1.

Remove the antenna mast by unscrewing it from the mount.

2.

Remove the bezel nut from the antenna.

3.

Raise the vehicle.

4.

Remove two screws and two clips from the right front mud flap and remove the mud flap.

5.

Remove two nuts and four clips from the mud guard and remove the mud guard.

6.

Disconnect the antenna cable from the antenna.

7.

Remove two bolts from the antenna mount support.

8.

Remove the antenna mount from the bottom.

INSTALLATION

Antenna Cable

1.

Install in reverse order of removal.

Tighten the antenna mast to 22 lb · in (2.5 N · m)

Tighten the antenna mount to 89 lb · in (10 N · m)

INSTALLATION

Antenna Mast

1.

Install the antenna mast into the antenna mount by screwing it into the mount.

Tighten the antenna mast to 22 lb · in (2.5 N · m).

INSTALLATION

Antenna Mount

1.

Install the antenna mount.

Tighten the two antenna mount support bolts to 89 lb · in (10 N · m)

2.

Connect the antenna cable connector to the antenna.

3.

Install the mud guard with two nuts and four clips.

4.

Install the mud flaps with two screws and two clips.

5.

Lower the vehicle.

6.

Install the bezel nut.

Tighten the bezel nut to 35 lb · in (4 N · m)

7.

Install the antenna mast.

Tighten the antenna mast to 22 lb · in (2.5 N · m)
