PERSONAL STATEMENT

Since I remember, I was always traveling, that is why I am interested in meeting new people,

places and cultures. I’ve visited many countries, not only in Europe. I would like to study international
business, because I am interested in business, my father has its own company and since I was a little
girl, I saw many business transactions, I took part in meetings and I could observe how to behave in
this world. This is the thing, that always fascinated me, it is a kind of job which suits me best, because
this is what I like and I think I can do my best here.

I think that connecting my two interests like this, is a very good idea, because it will let me

visit many countries in the future, learn new languages and meet new interesting people. I also like
studying foreign languages, I study English, French and Spanish which will be useful in my career.
Next year, I am going to pass DELE (Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera). I also took part
in Comenius project- students exchange between Poland, Turkey and France. It allowed me talk
to foreigners and meet their habits. I liked it very much, I felt like I am doing what I really like-
communicating with others, speaking foreign languages, visiting new places. In secondary school,
I took part in entrepreneurship training, because it always interested me. We were doing tasks
connected with business like planning the expenditures and incomes in company and that brought
me to think widely about world and economy.

I am also a communicator, which is relevant in business, because without

communicating with people you cannot reach anything. I can get on well either with children or
adults. I am attending International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in Poland. I chose the IB,
because I wanted to try something new and it fitted me better than Polish educational system, which
is not as varied and innovative for young people. I took Geography on the Higher level, because it is
connected with global issues, which interest me. During realizing CAS project, which consists of
realizing 3 aspects in IB: creativity, action and service, I was attending a kindergarten, so I had to be
able to talk with little kids, to gain their trust, because I spent there a few months. In IB programme, I
am writing an Extended Essay (an essay in one specific topic, for 4000 words), which is a part of my
Matura exam. My topic is not connected with business (“How does the Body Mass Index influence on
a heart rate?”), but it forces me to do many trials for my researches, so it shows my perseverance,
which is crucial in reaching goals in business. I was also taking care of children aged 2 years and we
had an awesome time together. My Spanish group contains of me and older people, in their thirties
and I can also have a good contact with them, making jokes, meeting after classes and it is essential
to be able to communicate with others. I cannot imagine my life without other people, I have to work
with them, not to be closed in one office only with paper work. I love meeting new people, their
culture and habits. That makes me more tolerant and open-minded. Why the UK? I think it is a great
opportunity to gain knowledge somewhere else than in my country, meet new situations, other ways
of thinking and learning. College time is the best time to travel around the world, while I am young, I
have time for this and I am not forced to be in one place with the same people around.

I am also fond of practicing sports, which makes me determined and focused person. I ski

since I was fours years old. I also played volleyball in secondary school and started playing tennis with
a coach and windsurfing. Group sports show me how to work collaboratively with others to reach
something, that only group work will be effective, that I am a part of a team. Sports teach me how to
