Hat Body:
With RED & H hook

*** join each round with a sl st in the first dc, do not count ch up as a st ***

Start st pattern in the first dc of each round

R1: Ch 3, 10 dc on third ch from hook (10 dc)
R2: Ch 2, 2dc in each dc (20)
R3: Ch2, * dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc * repeat * to * until the end of the round

R4: Ch2, * dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc * repeat * to * until the end of the
round (40)
R5: Ch2, * dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc * repeat * to * until the end of the
round (50)
R6: Ch2, * dc in next 4 dc, 2 dc in next dc * repeat * to * until the end of the
round (60)
R7: Ch2, * dc in next 5 dc, 2 dc in next dc * repeat * to * until the end of the
round (70)
R8: Ch2, dc in each dc around (70)

Repeat R8, 6 mores times, or a couple more if you want it longer. Join last row
with a sl st. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Ear Flaps:

• With st markers, mark of 13 sts for each ear flap, 24 sts for the front of the

hat, 15 sts for the back of the hat.

• Hold one earflap section with wong side facing you. Join yarn with a sl st

in the fifth dc from the right hand marker.

R1: Sk the next dc, 5 dc in the next dc, sk the next dc, sl st in the next dc, bring
yarn to the front of your work, sl st in the next 2 dc instering hook back to front,
turn
R2: Sk the sl sts, 2 dc in each dc, sk the next dc on hat, sl st in the next dc, bring
yarn to the front of your work, sl st in the next 2 dc instering hook back to front,
turn
R3: Sk the sl sts, 2 dc in each of the next 2 dc, dc in the next dc, 2 dc in the next
dc, dc in the next 2 dc, 2dc in the next dc, 2 dc in each of the next 2 dc, sk the
next st on hat, sl st in the next dc

Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Repeat in other ear flap section.

Eyebrow:
With black & H hook

Repeat R2 4 more times
R8: Ch1, sc in the next 14 sc, sc3tog in the next 3 sc, sc in the next 14 sc
Fasten off with a lon gtail for sewing. Weave in ends.

Sew feathers onto crown of hat.  Pin down eyebrow centered over front of hat,
allowing the point of the eyebrow to hang down a little over the edge of the
hat. Sew in place.
