Easy Patchwork Quilt Instructions
Make this fun patchwork quilt using your favorite fabric collections. We have shown it in two versions, pastel florals
and a vintage tablecloth. Both styles are excellent for a summer class project or a lock-in project. Because this quilt is
so quick to piece together you can have fun with the quilting. The pastel quilt is tied with satin ribbons at the corners
of each block. Adorable in a little girls room or a sunroom. The tablecloth quilt was machine quilted using ric rac
along the seams. Great to pack for a Picnic. Have fun with these basic instructions and create your own
masterpiece.
Determine the size of the overall quilt that you are wanting to make. To showcase the fabrics I normall y cut my
squares 8” x 8”. How many squares you use will determine the size. The pastel floral is 7 rows across by 9 rows long.
The finished quilt measures 52 x 67. Cut 11 squares of each of the 6 fabrics (4 florals and 2 stripes) and lay them out
in 7 squares across. Repeat to form 9 rows down.
The vintage tablecloth quilt is 6 rows by 8 rows down. It finished 45 x 60.
Try any of these suggestions for quilting:
Using a combination of colored ribbon to tie the quilt top with.
Fun buttons and embroidery floss tied in the center of the blocks, not at the corners.
