Diagonal Bobble Clutch
This sturdy, textured clutch is simple to crochet and makes an elegant accessory. Customize the look by
using different sizes or shapes for the button.

Row 3: Turn. Ch 1. Sc in blo of ea st across.
Repeat Rows 2 & 3 until button band is slightly
wider than your button, ending after Row 3.

Row 4: Turn. Ch 1. Sc in first st. *Bob in next
st, sc in ea of next 5 sts.* Repeat from * to *
across to last 2 sts. Bob in next st, sc in last st.
Row 5: Repeat Row 3.
Row 6: Turn. Ch 1. Sc in first st, sc in next st,
bob in next st. *Sc in ea of next 5 sts, bob in next
st.* Repeat from * to * across to last 6 sts. Sc in
ea of next 6 sts.
Row 7: Repeat Row 3.
Row 8: Turn. Ch 1. Sc in first st, sc in ea of
next 2 sts, bob in next st. *Sc in ea of next 5 sts,
bob in next st.* Repeat from * to * across to last
5 sts. Sc in ea of next 5 sts.
Row 9: Repeat Row 3.

Shape buttonhole
Row 21: Turn. Ch 1. Sc in blo of first st and in
blo of ea of next 20 sts . Ch 3, sk 3 sts. Sc in blo
of ea of next 21 sts. (42 sc, 3 ch)
Edging
Round 1: Turn. Ch 1. Sc in first st and in ea st
across (including sc and chs) to last st. 3 sc in
last st. *Turn, working across side, and sc in
edge of ea row across to last row. 3 sc in edge of
last row.* Turn, working in unworked loops
from foundation ch, sc in ea st across foundation
ch to last st. 3 sc in last st. Repeat from * to *
once. Join with sl st to first sc of edging. Fasten
off.
Finishing
Spray block finished piece (optional).
Fold together inside out (with bobble sides
facing each other). Line up button band with
button hole and closure. Pin in place.
Using approximately 1 yd (1 m) of Parisian
Cotton, thread yarn needle for sewing with
thread doubled over. Starting on one side and
matching stitches on each side of fold,
whipstitch side closed by inserting needle into
the outer loop of each side. Repeat on other side
to sew closed. Fasten off. Weave in yarn tails.
Turn clutch out so that bobbles are on the
outside. Line up button with button hole. Using
one strand of Parisian Cotton, sew button hole to
button band. Weave in yarn tails.
