What is EEG
Biofeedback and
what is it used for?
EEG Biofeedback
(ElectroEncephaloGraphy
- Biological Feedback)
also called Neurofeedback
EEG Biofeedback is a learning
strategy that enables persons to
alert their brain wawes
When information about person’s own
brainwaves characteristic is available
to him
He can learn to change
them.
You can think of it as
EXERCISE FOR THE
BRAIN
What is it used for?
School problems
(poor results,
dyslexia, dysgraphia,
dysorthography, etc.)
Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder
(ADHD) & ADD
Chronic Fatigue
Syndrome (CFS)
Stress, nervous tension
Sleep disorders,
nocturia
Infantile cerebral palsy
Anxiety, panic attacks
Epilepsy
Stage fright, internal
tension, poor self-
valuation
Post-traumatic Stress
Disorder
Chronic pain and
migraines
Stroke/Minor
Traumatic Brain Injury
(MTBI)
How is it done?
How does EEG
Biofeedback look like?
The patient is asked
to play the video
game with his brain
How long does training
usually lasts?
For most conditions, initial
progress can be seen within about
ten sessions. Initial training goals
may be met by twenty sessions. In
the case of hyperactivity and
attention deficit disorder, training
is expected to take about forty
sessions, or even more in severe
cases.
Some symptoms of head
injury often respond in less
than twenty sessions (quality
of sleep; fatigue; chronic
pain), whereas others may
require longer training before
they show an initial response.
How successful the
neurotherapy is?
• Some clinicians and researchers
have reported remarkable success
in the treatment of ADD/ADHD
with Neurotherapy.
• Others still consider Neurotherapy
to be an experimental procedure.
• More than 700 groups worldwide
are using EEG biofeedback for
treatment of ADD/ADHD.
How successful the
neurotherapy is?
• It is an effective treatment for
migraine and tension headaches
among both children and adults.
• In more than 90 percent of children
under the age of twelve with sleeping
problems such as bedwetting,
recovery is expected within the first
two months of biofeedback treatment.
