Dragon is not a part of Union Flag, because Wales joined to England very early.
Leek (traditionally) - warriors wore leeks to distinguish friends from enemies.
Union Jack - WHY JACK? Because before flag was used as flag of Britain, it was used as the pennon (proporzec, ang. “jack”) on the navy (marynarka wojenna).
Britannia - she is a woman, she is wearing Roman rope and helmet, she is holding trident (symbol of Poseidon) - because Britain ruled over the seas when they conquered Spain. There's a lion next to her - because lion is on the Coat of Arms.
