There are two tasks in this test. You must do both tasks.

Task One

Choose one of the following topics. Write between 120 - 150 words.

1. You're getting married in six months. Write a letter to your English friend inviting him/her (with a partner) to your wedding party. Write about your wedding arrangements (time, location, guests). Ask your friend to let you know if he/she's coming. Offer to make reservations and cover the costs.

2. A British soldier (of the same rank) has recently finished a six-month exchange post in your unit. Write a letter, thanking him for his work and offering to keep in contact. Suggest a meeting in the summer while your unit has an exercise in Britain. Write what kind of exercise it is going to be and when.

Task Two

You have just completed a language course. Write a report to your CO describing the course and giving your opinion about it. Include the following points:

• date and length of course

• classes (size/quality)

• number of hours per week

• accommodation

• facilities on site
