More On Sony DVD's
By: Joe Sopko, CET
Sometimes things feel just like Deja Vu all over again. It seems like only days ago that we wrote about a fix for illiterate Sony DVD's (they can't read). Here is some more information that may help with your literacy program.
The symptoms include:
1. When playing a Dual Layer Disc, the video may sometimes stop or may not play a Dual Layer Disc.
2. When playing a LPCM (Linear PCM - Standard Audio of DVD) Disc after playing a Normal music (CDCA Disc, the sound may sometimes disappear.
3. Sometimes, CD/DVD/Video-CD will not play. In these cases, "No Disc" or "C:13:00" would appear on the display.
SOLUTION:
1. Replace the SYSCON ROM (IC 106) on the MB86 board with the latest version.
