WARNING; Nero's install wizard has detected the presence on
your machine of the following out of date driver -- Ultra2W
miniport driver AIC78U2.MPD. INSTALLATION OF NERO ON A
MACHINE CONTAINING THIS DRIVER COULD RESULT IN SEVERE
COMPLICATIONS UPON THE RUNNING OF NERO, INCLUDING
SYSTEM HANGS WHICH MAY CAUSE YOUR COMPUTER TO STOP FOR
30 SECONDS EVERY FEW MINUTES WHICH MAKES YOUR COMPUTER
UNUSABLE!
To avoid these problems, you should TAKE EACH OF THE
FOLLOWING STEPS:
1. copy or print out these instructions.
(file: \nero\Misc\w2222.ans)
2. quit installation of Nero.
3. update your current Ultra2W miniport driver
'AIC78U2.MPD' to a version dated
3.03 4.10.0.2000 or later
Because your 'AIC78U2.MPD' 3.02 4.10.0.2222 seems to have
a "higher" version, the Windows installation routine
refuses to load the new 'AIC78U2.MPD' 3.03 4.10.0.2000
with the recommended selection method.
Choose the alternative method instead.
(at the time of release, an
appropriate update was available free of charge from
Adaptec, Inc.'s web site at
ftp://ftp.adaptec.com/scsi/windows/7800w9x.exe).
Please review the terms of downloading products from
Adaptec Inc. by reviewing information on Adaptec's home
page (http://www.adaptec.com).
4. upon successful installation of the updated driver,
reboot your system (if installation of the updated
driver has not already required you to do so).
WARNING: FAILURE TO COMPLETE A REBOOT PRIOR TO
INSTALLATION OF NERO COULD LEAD TO THE PROBLEM
DESCRIBED ABOVE.
5. Following reboot, proceed to install Nero. You will
not receive this warning again if you have successfully
updated your miniport driver.
