*Uied in thts project: 1 bali Dale of Notwa/s Tiur (100% pure new wool, 126yd/115m, 1.75oz/50g), color 80020 Off-White.
Project before felting.
Foundation: Using the larger hk, ch 3, turn.
Row 1: 8 hdc in 3rd ch from hk, sl st in top of ch-3 to join into a circlę, do not turn.
Row 2: Ch 2, (hdc in next 3 sts, 2 hdc in next st) twice, sl st in top of ch-2.
Row 3: Ch 2, (hdc in next 4 sts, 2 hdc in next st) twice, sl st in top of ch-2.
Row 4 and all even rows: Ch 2,
hdc in ea st around, sl st in top of ch-2.
Row 5: Ch 2, (hdc in next 5 sts. 2 hdc in next st) twice, sl st in top of ch-2.
Cont inc 2 sts every other row until you work a rep of (hdc in next 8 sts, 2 hdc in next st) twice, work on row even.
Weave in ends.
Project after felting.
Baste the opening of the case closed with cotton cord. Felt in the washer, checking occasionally to see if the case is completely felted. When the case is felted to the desired texture, remove the basting cord, adjust to the finished shape and let dry in a warm, dry place.
Foundation: Using smaller hk and working along outside of felted case opening, sc 20 sts through top edge of felt, sl st in beg st, turn.
Rnd 1: (Ch 1, sk 4. (ch 1, dc) 5 times in same st, ch 2, sk 4, (sl st, ch 3, sl st) in next st) twice.
Rnd 2: (Ch 2, dc in ch sp after 1 dc of shell, ch 2, dc in next dc,
(ch 2. dc in next ch sp, ch 2, dc in next dc) twice, ch 2, dc in next ch sp, ch 2, sl st in lst sl st in corner, ch 2, sc in ch-3 Ip, ch 2, sl st in 2nd sl st in corner] twice.
Rnd 3: (Ch 4, sl st in ch sp) rep around.
Weave in ends.
