Rounds 9 A 10. Single crochet in each stitch around (34 singles in each round)
Round 11. Single crochet in each of the first 3 stitches, (single crochet the next 2 stitches together) do 3 times (first decreases madę), single crochet in the next 11 stitches, (single crochet the next 2 stitches together) do 3 times, single crochet in the remaining 8 stitches (28 single crochets around)
Round 12. (Single crochet in the first 2 stitches, single crochet next 2 stitches together) do 7 times around (21 single crochets)
Round 13. (single crochet in the first stitch, single crochet the next 2 stitches together) do 7 times around (14 single crochet)
Round 14. (single crochet the f irst 2 stitches together) do 7 times (7 single crochets)
Slip stitch in next stitch and fasten off leaving at least an 8" length of thread for sewing. Leave head open for now (see photo 5 ) Your head should resemble photo 4.

Trunk is madę in 2 separate.. round pieces (see photo 6).
Starting with the first trunk piece...
Round 1. Chain 2 and make 6 single crochets in 2nd chain from hook (6 single crochets)
Rounds 2 A 3. Single crochet in each stitch around (6 singles in each round). Fasten off leaving an 8" length for sewing
For the second trunk piece...
Round 1. Chain 2 and make 8 single crochets in 2nd chain from hook (8 single crochets)
Rounds 2 A 3. Single crochet in each stitch around (8 singles in each round). Fasten off leaving an 8" length for sewing.
For the first trunk piece only... weave ending thread through last round madę., refer to page 2 and close opening the same way his body was done.
Using first trunk piece ending thread.. sew to the beginning round on second trunk piece (see photo 7 for help). Knot thread securely and tuck away thread inside trunk to be unseen. Your trunk should resemble photo 8.
