Set sail for a friendly voyage. Cover the top three-fourths of the board with light blue background paper.Cover the bottom fourth of the board with layered strips of blue scalloped paper to resemble ocean waves. Accent the scene with paper clouds and a sunset. Use an overhead projector to enlarge the flagship pattern (page 115). Have each student draw his self-portrait on the sail. Cut out and attach the ship to the middle of the board. Provide paper strips for students to write the traits of a good friend to display on the board. Accent the scene using the seagull pattern {page 114).
