Foundation: Using wool yarn, ch 12, turn.

Row 1: Ch 2, hdc in back half of the 3rd ch from hk, and ea ch to the last ch, 5 hdc in the last ch, working on the other side of the sts, hdc in the next 10 sts, 5 hdc in the lst st, pm, do not turn - 31 sts.

Row 2: Hdc in next 13 sts, 2 hdc in next 3 sts, hdc in next 12 sts. 2 hdc in next 3 sts - 37 sts.

Row 3 - 19: Work even.

Row 20: Fold crocheting in half so it lies fiat and mark the top row about one-third from the right side. Hdc in ea st until you get to marker, turn.

Row 21: Ch 2, hdc in ea st to the last 7 sts, turn.

Row 22 - 30: Ch 2. hdc in ea st. turn.

Fold the last row in half, beg at the corners and working towards the rniddle of the row. sc across working into both ends held tog as 1.

CUff

Attach the novelty yarn to the heel end of the foot opening.

Rnd 1: Ch 2, 2 dc in the end of ea row and dc in ea st, rep until you complete the opening circle.

Rnd 2: Dc in or between ea st around.

Weave in end.

felting

Felt in the washer, checking often to make surę the slippers don't felt too smali. When the slippers are close to the correct size, try them on and wear for several minutes, then carefully remove them and let dry in a warm, dry place.
