GARDEN PLOT SQUARES THROW

The medallion squarc used herc is adapted Erom a traditional patiem callcd the Garden plot square or great-grandmother*s bedspread. The square is knitted Prom corncr to corner (sec page 53) with a single leaf at the beginning and a linę of smaller leaves across the rniddle at the widest point (sec page 43). Thcy are joined with the four single leaves placed together. Because it is knitted in sejuares, the work can be any sizc required, either to be used as a throw or madc to fu a bed.

Throw measures 56in (I42cm) square.A quarter of the throw is shown left Each square measures approximately 8'^in (2l.5cm)

34 x I ^4oz/50g balls in colour pale grcy

NEEDLES

Size 6 (4mm/UK8) needles

Gauge (Tension)

19 sts and 28 rows to 4in (I Ocm) measured over stockinette (stocking) stitch on size 6 (4mm/UK8) needles
