Milkshake Drip Painting

Skills: Crculwity, Foliowing Directions, Fine-Motor Skills Aetivity:

Place very thin pink, wbite, and brown tempera painl at thc easel. Place old newspapers or a dropclotb on tbe floor beneath the easel. Cut largo pieccs o/ i light and dark construclion papcr inlo drink ing glass shapes. Give each student a piece of the paper and a plastic straw. Explain thal each color of painl ropresonts a flavor of milkshake. Allow each child to choosc a piece of construclion paper to place on the easel. Show the children how to use a straw to drip the paint onto the paper. The painl will run down the paper and make inleresting designs.

Peanut Sponge Prints

Skills: Wint Making, Creativity, Fine-Motor Skills Aclivily:

F*urchase a packagc of kilchen spongcs and cut each into the shape of a peanut. Piuee the spongeson the arttable along with shallowbowls of brown tempera paint and light-eołored construclion paper. Allow each child to have a turn working with the peanut sponges, paint, and paper to make his own peanut prints.

Dccorated Eggs

Skills: CreaUvity, Fine-Motor Skills, Drawing Activity:

Fgg decorating is too much fun to limit to once a yenr. Purchase several dozen eggs and hard boil thcm. (As an alternative, you could have students ! decorate plastic eggs.) Gathcr an assortment of tempera paints, markers, stickers, fabric and yam scraps, glue, scissors, crayons and food colon ng. Give one egg to each child and allow the children to use any or all of the materials to decorate thc eggs. Encouragc the children to share their decorating ideas with their classmales, and allow tbem to work together to decorate some of thc eggs.
