Skills: Letter Recognilion, AJphabetical Order, Fine-Motor Skills Activity:
Place bo wis of uncooked pasta (several different types, sizes, and shapes), construction paper and glue at the art center. Assign a different lcttcr of the alphabet to each child in your class.
(You may need to repeat some letters.) Allow cach child to use the materials at the art center to ereate a card for his letter. Hc can use the glue to dra w the letter on a sheet of construction paper and then put pieees of pasta on the glue. When the glue dries. the child can sharehis letter with the class. Allow stuclents to work as a group or individually to put the letter cards in alpbabetical order.

Thought, Making a List, Counting Activity:
Gather the children and tell them that the group will be brainsLurming aboul apples. Explain that students should name all of the things they can think of that can be madę with apples. As the children brainstorm and ereate the list, write the items on chart paper or a chalkboard. When they can think nf no morę items, have them help you count the number of items in Lheir list.
