Cereal Box Collage

Skills: Creating a Collage, Gluing, Creativity, Fine-Motor Skills Aclivily:

Have students bring cmply cereal boxes to class. Provide Ihem with scissors. construction paper, and glue. Lct students cut the box panels into a varicty of simple shapes. Allow eaeh child to takc a Lurn gluing some of the box-panel shapes to a piece of construction paper to create a cereal box collage.

Cooked Spaghetti Painting

Skills: Crealmty, Fine-Motor Skills, Painting Activity:

Ob ta i n a package of spaghetti noodles and allow the children to wntch as you prepare and boil them. Set the cookod, cooled noodles on the art table along with shallow bowls of tempera, spoons, and finger paint paper.

Allow the children to scoop several spoonfuls of paint ona piece of the finger paint paper.

They are then to puli the spaghetti noodles Ihrough the paint and across the paper to make spaghetti paint designs.

Painted Toast

Skills: Fine-Motor Skills, Painting, Oreativity Aetivity:

Cather a loaf of brcad, food eoloring, milk, smali clean paint brushes, and a toaster. Fili several glasses half-full of milk and add food eoloring to each. Set the malerials on clean paper lowels at the art table. Allow each child to use apaintbrush andcolored milk to lightly paint a piece of bread. Whcn a child has finished painting his design on his brcad, allow him to put the bread into the toaster. When the bread is toasted, the child will have a colorful, unique and edible piece of toast.
