CSF circulates through the tour brain ventrides (two lateral ventricłes and a third and łourth ventricle) and in the subarachnoid space sur-rounding the brain and spinał cord. Most of the CSF is reabsorbed into the venous system through the arachnoid granulations and through the vvalls of tfu; capillaries of the central nervous system and pia mater. The subarachnoid space normally contains about 150 ml of CSF and the choroid ptexus produces about 500ml/day; hence, CSF turns over about three times every 24 hours.
