2.12.1.    Therapy for the trapezius, descend-

ing part.

Starting Position: P: Supine; head and neck in fuli ventral and left lateral flexion and right rotation; shoulders at edge of head of couch. T: Standing at head of couch; left side of abdomen supports right side of P’s head.

Grip: T’s left hand grips the dorsal side of P's neck. P's head and neck are stabilized between T's left forearm and chest. T's right hand on P's right shoulder.

Procedurę: Using this grip. T applies traction to P's neck while gradually and maximally pushing P's shoulder in a caudal and dorsal direction.

Stimulation of Antagonists: T moves right hand. cupping P’s right elbow in palm. T then asks P to move further in the direction of stretching., and resists that movement to stimulate P’s antagonists.

Notę: Avoid any movements of P's head and neck other than the prescribed traction applied.
