Stain removal

Greasy wax stains and marks

For crayon marks. spilled candle wax. and residue left from tape and other adhesive. dab with minerał oil and wipe gently with a rag. (Minerał oil is the main ingredient of many commercial products that advertise the removal of greasy wax stains and marks.)

Ink stains

Use a non-aerosol hair spray to remove ink stains or try cinnamon or clove bud essential oil mixed with some olive oil.

Removing Labels

Vinegar can be used to remove price labels and other labels from glass. wood, and china. Paint the label with several coats of white vinegar. Give the vinegar time to soak in and after several minutes the decal or label can be rubbed off.

Vinegar also removes stick-on hooks from painted walls. Saturate a cloth or sponge with vinegar and squeeze the liquid behind the hook so that the vinegar comes in contact with the adhesive. (NB: Use these methods only on washable surfaces and washable paint).

Removing sticky residues

To get rid of sticky residues. rub a few coats of vinegar on the area and allow to soak. Then wash off with a wet washcloth and the sticky will rub right off.

Suede

Dirt marks on suede can be rubbed out with an art-gum eraser. Then buff very lightly with an emery board. Add a shine by polishing it with the inside of a banana peel. then buff.

Wallpaper cleaner

Roli up a piece of white bread and use it to "erase" marks on wallpaper.
