Minor calyx—

Ureteric bud grows into metanephric blastema and divides (A. 6 wks), forming renal pelvis & major calyces (B. end 6 wks). Each calyx penetrates metanephric tissue and subdivides 12 or morę times (C. 7 wks). Tubules of 2^nd generation enlarge & take in those of 3^rd & 4^th forming minor caiyces.

Collecting tubules of 5^th & later form collecting ducts & and renal pyramid (D. Newborn).
