CHRISTMAS TABLE NAPKIN RINGS
To make the head, roli a smali marble-size bali of dough, and a tiny bali for the nose. Make holes for the eyes using the cocktail stick.
Make the beard by rolling a short thin ropę of dough. Join the beard to the head. Make a hole in the centre of the beard for the mouth and rough up the surface to make it look fluffy.
Roli a smali bali of dough to make the hat. Pinch and slightly roli one end. Put your finger in at the opposite end making a well and puli out the edge. Fold over the narrow end and secure with a little water. Wet the top of the head and join on the hat.
Roli a very thin ropę for the edge of the hat. Rougr- jp the ropę with a cocktail stic< to make it fluffy. Make a smali pompom for the end of the hat Repeat the proccss for the ot ner five Santas. Stick the Santas’ heads on to the napkin rings.
HBake the finished napkin rings at 120°C (250°F Gas Mark A) for about two and a half hours.
Once the rings are dry, you can
paint them in fe.stive colours.
• Dark green, for the outside of the rings
• Gold, for the markings on the edges of the rings
• Red, for the insides of the rings and the Santas' sleeves and hats
• White, for the beards. eyebrows, fur trimmings, pompoms and cuffs
• Watery red, tor the noses.
Apply two coats of varnish
when the paint is dry.
