Notę: Working between des is a simple technique that creates a slightiy openwork fabric with a lateral spnead. łf you do not like the slightiy ruffled effect you get from the border being wider than the base round, work the base round with a larger hook ortake care to work the base round loosely. You may also need to adjustthe numberof stitches i n the co mer to albw border fabric to lie fiat.

Base md, each side: Any multiple.

Begininany stitch.

Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in each st around, pladng 3 dc in each comer st —comer group madę, join with slip st to top of ch-3, slip st in space between first 2 sts.

Rnd 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), *dc between each dc to comer group, (2 dc between des of comer group) two times — corner group madę; rep from * around, join with slip st to top of ch-3, slip st in space between first 2 sts.

Rnd 3: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc between each dc around, placing 3 dc between 2 des in certer of comer group; joi n with slip st to top of ch-3.

Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in same st ch 3, *sc in next st ch 3; rep from * around, join with slip st to top of ch-3. Fastenoff.
