f. Try a different location in your neighborhood. Slay away front large metal objeets w hen adjusling (metal tclcphonc polis or light post. fenees. etc.)

Ute external speaker jaek (EX I SP.) on the rear panel is used for remote reeeiver monitoring. The e.\ternal speaker should havc 8 ohms impedancc and be able to handle at least 4 watts. Whcn the cxtcrnal speaker is plugged in. the intcriuil speaker is diseonneeted.

To usc this fcature, tum thc switch fully countcrclockwisc and thcn tum clockwisc slowly until thc background noisc is just climinatcd. I-urthcr clockwisc rotation will incrcasc thc thrcshold level which a signal nmst ovcrcomc in order to bc hcard. Onlv strong signal will bc hcard at a maximum clockw isc setting.
3. MIC GAIN CONTROL : Adjust thc microphone gain in thc transmit modes. This Controls thc gain to thc cxtcnt that fuli talk power is available scYcral inchcs away from thc microphone.
•4. RF GAIN CONTROL : This control is uscd to rcducc thc gain of thc RF aniplificr under strong signal conditions.
