Aims of teaching
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the issues conceming the basics of fire protection and first aid in an emergency of life and health.

Knowledge:	Student: P_W01 describes the standards and rules of formation of accident risks, their sources, their naturę and methods of prevention. P_W02 describes the rescue system in Poland, pointing out the differences and the similarities to some European systems.	K_W01 K_W04

Course contents
The intemal security system of the country. Risks and rescue forces in Poland. The causes of starting and spreading fires. National Rescue and Firefighting System in Poland. Protection of buildings and grounds. The technical conditions of buildings. Principles of eąuipment and the use of fire extinguishers. Signs of safety and evacuation used in fire protection and transportation of hazardous materials. Sources of fire. Extinguishing systems of solid and semi solid. Training in the field of fire protection. Explosions, as a source of threat to the building. Prevention of serious accidents in workplaces. Explosions, analysis of work position. Emergency cali centers. Emergency medical services in Poland. Security events. Rules to prepare for flooding. Crisis management, crisis management teams. Rescue and fire-fighting eąuipment.
