WELCOME TO THE CLUB! PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU COME.

You should always drink plenty of water before you exercise.

You should wear sports clothes when you exercise. You should wear clean sports shoes inside the gym. If you play sports like football or tennis outside, then you should have two pairs of shoes.

You shouldn't eat a big meal before you exercise. Please don't bring food into the gym area. You can eat in the café area after you exercise.

You should have a shower before you swim in our pool.

If you are interested in tennis, there is a tennis club on Thursday evenings. You should contact the tennis coach at the following number: 07168.

Are you good at running? The running club is looking for new members. You can come to the running club every Sunday morning at 10.00.

The National Theatre

The National Theatre in London is an important place for Londoners. It is very easy to find. It stands by the river Thames in London, near Waterloo Bridge.

The building of the theatre is grey and very modern. Some people don't like the building. They say it is ugly. Others say it is interesting because it is an example of 1970's architecture.

The National Theatre is not one theatre. In fact, it is three theatres in one building. The theatres are called the Olivier, the Littleton, and the Cottesloe.

There are always interesting plays on in each of the theatres. There are classic plays, by famous playwrights like Shakespeare, in the Olivier and Littleton theatres. The Cottesloe often shows modern plays.

There are a lot of different cafés and bars to choose from in the theatre. There are also restaurants where you can eat a meal before a show. You do not have to have a theatre ticket to go there - you only have to pay for the food.

Outside the National Theatre there are often open air shows in the summer. You can watch them and you don't have to pay. You can watch musicians, clowns or acrobats by the river. There are also often stalls selling books and souvenirs.
