Confirmation Testing
Patient position: seated with the
shoulder abducted to 90 degrees.
Apply the base of the Kinesio Tex to
the head of the humerus over the
anterior deltoid.
With your hand over the base of the
tape and the head of the humerus,
press the shoulder into retraction.
Stabilize the base of the tape and pull
the skin posteriorly and superiorly to
increase tissue tension.
Apply the superior “y” tail to the
sternoclavicular joint.
Elevate the shoulder to 100-110
degrees of abduction.
Apply the inferior “y” tail of the Kinesio
Tex lateral to the nipple to surround
the muscle belly.
Completed Kinesio Tex application:
pectoralis major (sternal and
clavicular portions)
